ChemBioFrance

ChemBioFrance is a national research infrastructure certified in 2018 by the Ministry of Higher Education,
Research and Innovation. Its mission is to provide an integrated range of services for the discovery and use of small molecules for "health and research" (biotools and drug candidates).
ChemBioFrance is a distributed infrastructure throughout the national territor and is based on the following pillars:

- The National Chemical Library (CN), which maintains a collection of natural compounds and extracts and distributes them to users. It is the result of the collaboration of 48 teams, attached to 42 research organisations, schools and universities which supply the molecules of the chemical library. The ICN laboratory in Nice is one of the contributors to the National Chemical Library;
- A chemoinformatics platform distributed over 8 sites to which the IPMC laboratory in Sophia Antipolis contributes;
- A network of 9 screening platforms, including the MaSC platform (Marseille Screening Center);
- A network of three ADME toxicology platforms.

The headquarters of the infrastructure is located in Montpellier, as well as the CNRS unit in charge of its management.

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE FRENCH NATIONAL CHEMICAL LIBRARY - CHEMBIOFRANCE

The annual meeting of the French National Chemical Library - ChemBioFrance are very important for this community and are an opportunity for the 62 laboratories members of the infrastructure to exchange their experiences on current collaborations and to define the directions and objectives for the coming year.
They also allow the organization of a mini-symposium around themes at the interface of chemistry and biology. They are articulated around 3 plenary lectures by senior researchers and a flash communications session (3 min) and posters by students and young researchers.
A hundred people are expected including reseachers (30) located around Nice.

Previous editions :

Every year this event takes place in a different city, organized by one of the partner team. Latest ones were in Strasbourg (2019), Montpellier (2021) after the covid and curfiew and Lyon (2022).

Local Committee welcome words

The city of Nice is in the heart of an exceptionally beautiful and contrasting territory, between sea and mountains. On the Côte d'Azur, the sublime beaches and the transparent sea form a perfect balance with the small perched villages of the hinterland and the green mountain valleys. In the spring, when winter leaves the mountains and summer reaches the coast, it happens to start your day on skis and end it on a beach. A whole way of life.... In the Côte d'Azur, there are 28 CNRS research and service structures spread over nine of the ten CNRS institutes, including life sciences, particularly in the field of health, represented by three major world-renowned institutes (IPMC, iBV and IRCAN), as well as chemical sciences within a chemistry institute in Nice (ICN), through original internationally recognized themes (aromas, perfumes, synthesis, bioactive molecules ). Both CNRS and Inserm ensure a substantial presence in close collaboration with its academic partners from the University Côte d'Azur (UCA), winner of "initiative d'Excellence Idex" (UCAJEDI) label. Côte d'Azur also offers an industrial and innovation ecosystem that includes world-class companies, small, start-ups and competitiveness clusters. Sophia Antipolis, located in a 2,400 hectare park, is the leading technology park in Europe bringing together 2,500 companies, 40,000 employees and 4,500 researchers. In the field of health and biotechnologies, 170 establishments on the Côte d'Azur have been identified, of which almost a third belong to the biopharmaceutical industry (4,000 jobs) and another third specializes in the management and logistics of clinical trials and services to the industry (CRO).

4th "Journées de la Chimiothèque Nationale-ChemBioFrance" will take place at the "Château de Valrose" in Nice. Listed as an Historic Monument since 1991, Valrose was the name of one of the most beautiful properties on the Riviera. Today it is the name of one of the best located University Campuses in France, the seat of the Côte d'Azur University and the Faculty of Sciences. The Valrose site is easily accessible by tram from the station or the airport or by car (near the A8 motorway). Plenary sessions will take place in the castle theater and working meetings in nearby rooms. The belvedere room adjoining the castle will allow industrialists who wish to exhibit their products and discuss with the delegates

4th Journées de la Chimiothèque Nationale-ChemBioFrance, commitee wil be pleased to welcome members of ChemBioFrance and their guests on june, 1st and 2nd.
